The RCC sponsors and promotes many neighborhood-friendly events. Join us for Rolando’s community activities and traditions!
RCC Community Meetings
Once a month, RCC invites the community to meet together, exchange ideas, and hear from guest speakers about topics of local importance. This is a great opportunity to stay informed about our community and city goings-on, speak up if you have an idea, and meet neighbors of similar interests to get things done.
Community Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at the United Domestic Workers Hall, 4833 Seminole Drive. “Meet-n-greet” begins in the cafeteria at 6:00PM; the night’s agenda begins at 6:30PM and usually ends around 7:45PM. Unless issues of special significance arise there are no community meetings in July or August.
Rolando Night Out
The Rolando Community Council sponsors a “get to know your neighbors” event called Rolando Night Out. We select a local dining establishment and ask neighbors to join us to share goings-on, the latest community news, and relax and catch up. Check our home page for the latest venue. Stay tuned for updates on this fun neighborhood event!
Rolando Summer Concerts, Picnics, & Holiday Party Events
Over the years hundreds of neighbors have gathered together and enjoyed our summer concerts and Holiday Parties in December. Thank you to all who attended this month’s summer picnic and music jam! We hope next year is bigger and better and check back often to get the latest updates.
BOO! Parade
There is only one annual Halloween parade in the San Diego and it happens right here in Rolando! The College Area Business Improvement District (BID) organizes the annual BOO! Parade on El Cajon Blvd. and RCC actively supports it. RCC helps support this fun event and also sponsors a float which neighbors help plan, build, and costume to bring some spooky cheer to one of San Diego’s most unique events. For more information about the parade, visit the BOO! site here!
