Let’s Talk STREET FAIR!

The RCC will be talking street fair recap and is seeking community input.  We will be sharing the feedback we have received so far for this years street fair and asking for additional feedback from our community via poll during this months meeting. We would like to hear input from the community for planning purposes for next year.

STREET IMPROVEMENTS COMING TO ROLANDO

Did you get the postcard?  It’s finally here!

Here’s a few notes that we know:

  • Project Start & Administrative Requirements: Although the notice to proceed was issued last month, full physical work has not yet started. It is common for projects to begin with administrative tasks before fieldwork commences. The contractor has completed all required submittals and is only awaiting traffic control approval, which remains pending due to necessary revisions.

  • Work Schedule: The contractor has begun some preliminary prep work i.e., sub-surface exploratory activities to be followed by actual construction activities beginning next month. Concrete work is expected to follow in the first or second week of April. We are currently awaiting a confirmed schedule, as the contractor is coordinating operations across multiple active projects and neighborhoods. Please see attached for the information to be distributed to the community.

  • Site Conditions & Potential Delays: The contractor has reported encountering unsuitable, saturated soil conditions on a nearby paving project due to recent rains. This has led to decreased productivity on their current projects and raised concerns about similar conditions on this site. As a precaution, they are holding to the current paving schedule in April while conducting additional subsurface investigations and allowing time for soil to dry. Delaying by a few weeks may ultimately benefit the community by ensuring a more stable subgrade.

  • Overall Project Timeline: Despite this delay in starting fieldwork, the overall project completion date remains on track. Paving is still expected to be completed by June 30th.

BIG CHANGES COMING TO THE PARK

Clay Park has been renamed to Pendleton Park.

You may see demolition coming to the park soon.  We are expecting the city to break ground soon.  Check out the plans for the park.
