Description: Eastern Area Communities Planning Committee (EACPC or Eastern Area)

"Can’t see the forest for the trees”

“The squeaky wheel gets the grease”

You’ve heard the sayings. What do they have to do with EACPC? WE NEED YOUR INPUT!

EACPC, or Eastern Area, is the officially recognized community planning group that represents Rolando and advises the City on land use issues within our area. It also includes the communities of El Cerrito, Rolando Park, Oak Park, Redwood Village, Webster. In addition to reviewing and commenting on discretionary projects (i.e. projects requiring public input), the Committee may also bring forth new concerns to the attention of the City.

We are fortunate to live in a City that requests community input. But even well meaning representatives and Councilmembers may not be aware of all issues or viewpoints. Our local representatives rely on feedback and information from Rolandians to help guide discussion and decisions, and to stay ahead of topics before they become problems.

Here is a sampling of recent discussions affecting Rolando and nearby areas:
· CentrePoint project at 63rd and El Cajon
· SANDAG Mid-City Bicycle Corridor project proposing improvements / road changes to create east-west corridors on Solita & Tower, or El Cajon, or University
· Proposed speed bumps on Amherst
· Rapid Bus Transit lanes and/or turnouts on El Cajon

You can help us by participating in several ways:
· Attend EACPC meetings. In addition to agenda items, non-agenda comments may be voiced during ‘Communications from the Public’. Agendas are posted on the City’s website at
· Contact Chairperson Laura Riebau at (619) 208-6813. Laura can add your e-mail to her distribution list for public notices and agendas.
· Talk with Rolando’s representatives at an RCC meeting.

EACPC meets at 7 PM the second Tuesday of every month at Holy Spirit Catholic Church – Parish Hall, 2725 55th Street, San Diego, CA 92105.
